Lingua Science Corporation Hosts Waseda University Students
During the month of August, Lingua Science Corporation is pleased to host
three students visiting from Waseda University
in Tokyo, Japan: Yoshiko Kamishikiryo, Hajime Kuwayama, and Fumi Sekimoto. Hajime and
Yoshiko will be sophomores at Waseda in the fall. Fumi is a graduate student who will
remain in Ann Arbor to study English. All three are engineering students
During their visit, Fumi, Hajime, and Yoshiko have a very busy schedule.
They are taking English classes, touring local manufacturing plants, and
visiting many other attractions of interest. They recently visited the
state-of-the-art
Henry Ford Rouge Factory in Dearborn, General Motors
headquarters in the Renaissance Center, and Chelsea Milling, the home of Jiffy mixes. They have also taken in Greenfield Village and downtown Detroit, with a dinner in Greektown. Other exciting expeditions await them, including a trip to Chicago. Join us here for a record in photographs of their visit.

The first Saturday after their arrival was a busy one for Fumi, Hajime, and Yoshiko. They toured the Ford Rouge plant, visited Greenfield Village, went to General Motors headquarters in the Renaissance Center, and capped off the day with dinner in Greektown.

After classes on Tuesday, it was off to the Chelsea Milling plant, where some 1.6 million boxes of Jiffy Mix products are produced per day.

Despite their heavy schedule of classes, visits to industrial plants, and other activities, Fumi, Hajime, and Yoshiko have still had some time to relax and enjoy a beautiful Michigan summer day. They spent their second Saturday here sailing, power boating, swimming, and picnicking at the Portage Lake Yacht club.
