Product Engineer (Mechanical Engineer)

Description:

Direct hire, F/T opening for a product engineer (mechanical engineer) at a Tier 1 supplier in Wixom.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of design and development activities in cooperation with customers and group companies.
  • Design a major suspension system component.
  • Check drawings and design calculations.
  • Coordinate with test lab to accomplish required testing.
  • Write reports.
  • Conduct meetings with customers, plants, and other departments, and share information as needed.
  • Come up with countermeasures/solutions to design issues, and work to proactively prevent the occurrence of issues in products, processes, and systems.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Automotive industry experience a plus. 2-5 years engineering experience desired
  • Ability to work in a team environment - good interpersonal skills to communicate with engineers, customers, supplies, and team members
  • Good time management and decision-making ability
