Bilingual immigration paralegal (Japanese-English or Chinese-English)

Description:

Highly experienced immigration paralegal needed full-time at a prestigious Michigan law firm. Bilingual skills desired (Japanese-English, or possibly Chinese-English skills). May consider candidates without foreign language skills if paralegal experience is extensive.

Duties:

• Handle immigrant and non-immigrant case files
• Draft documentation based on instructions from attorneys
• Prepare forms and various documents using INSZoom and MSOffice
• Act as a liaison with clients to answer general questions and explain procedures
• Translate documents needed for cases
• Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

• B.A. or B.S. degree
• A minimum of 2 to 4 years experience in the immigration paralegal field
• INSZoom or equivalent software skills
• MS Office
• Amazing writing skills in English
• Ability to create documents for cases based on brief instructions from attorneys
• Experience with immigrant and non-immigrant cases
• Professional poise and excellent communication skills
• Exceptional customer service orientation
• Near-native fluency in Japanese (or possibly Chinese) highly desired, ability to translate business-related and personal identification documents
• Great attention to detail
