CAD operator and IT systems support

Description:

Opening for a full-time CAD operator with some IT systems support functions at an international auto supplier in Wixom. On contract, with some benefits. May lead to a direct hire position for the right person.

CAD duties

• Making product drawings (suspension springs, torsion bars) according to customer specs and design engineers' directions, primarily in Catia V5, I-DEAS NX 5, and Unigraphics NX
• Coordinating with design engineers
• Receiving and sending CAD data to customers
• Performing interference checks on 3D CAD models with engineers
• Maintaining a working knowledge of new CAD technologies

IT systems support duties

• Supporting desktop applications
• Troubleshooting and correcting PC hardware and software issues
• Providing newwork and server system support, maintenance, and installation
• Providing telecommunication system support
• Maintaining data backup systems and schedules
• Providing as-needed Help Desk services, including on-call support

Requirements:

• CAD experience
• Knowledge of CAD system 2D and 3D operation-CATIA V5, I-DEAS NX5, Unigraphics NX
• Knowledge of CAD data transfer systems such as Teamcenter Engineering and Autoweb
• Drafting theory, geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Knowledge of vehicle suspension systems highly desired
• Some IT experience with desktop applications-Office, CAD software & data transfer, Web-based systems
• Knowledge of operating systems, primarily Windows XP, Vista 7, Server 2008, Linux/Unix
• Knowledge of networking-cabling, switch/router/firewall configs
• Some programming ability helpful but not required
• Must be highly detail oriented, with the ability to multitask
• A.S. degree
