Do you provide benefits to employees?

Yes. Lingua Science employees hired to work onsite at other companies receive benefits. We offer 401K and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) plans to everyone working 12 hours a week or more. Full-time employees (those working 32 hours a week or more) receive additional benefits, including paid vacations, paid holidays, and health insurance premium reimbursement.

Will Lingua Science sponsor a work visa?

All employees of Lingua Science must be able to work legally in the United States for any employer. Under very rare circumstances we may sponsor or transfer a work visa, but this is less than 1% of all cases.

How fluent do I have to be?

Bilinguals are expected to be able to read, write, and speak at a professional level in two languages (usually English and Japanese). This includes the ability to quickly read e-mails, write business correspondence, give presentations, take phone messages, and so on. In general, Japanese proficiency includes the ability to read a minimum of 1,000 kanji characters with little or no use of a dictionary.

I sent a resume a while ago and see a new job opening that I am interested in. What should I do?

Please send your resume to us again, specifying the new job opening for which you want to be considered.

What should I bring to an interview?

Bring a few copies of your resume and copies of any letters of recommendation or certifications that you would like to share as part of your job application. Depending on your field, photos or samples of your work may be appropriate. Some employers will want to see a copy of your college transcript if you have recently graduated and have no related work experience. In addition, a prepared list of references is always helpful.
