Bilingual (Japanese-English) HR Specialist / Administrative Assistant


International automotive supplier seeking a Japanese / English bilingual HR Specialist / Administrative Assistant for the HR Department to handle administrative tasks and HR support for expatriates.

Contract position with a possibility of direct hire after 6 months

Temporarily work-from-home due to COVID-19 until work at the office resumes


  • Assist expatriates with housing, transportation, and other relocation needs while on assignment.
  • Coordinate with the Japan head office and other offices regarding HR policies, visa issues, etc.
  • Support payroll processing as needed and work to meet accounting/tax requirements.
  • Participate in kaizen activities
  • General administrative duties including assistance with preparing documents, presentations, data entry, etc.
  • Japanese-English translation and interpreting duties to assist expatriates and staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • 4-year college degree. May consider candidates with a 2-year college degree and equivalent work experience.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in administration, HR, etc.
  • MSOffice skills
  • Multitasking and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and a high level of professionalism in interacting with internal and external customers
  • Good at staying organized and paying attention to detail
